I use this set of spreadsheets to keep track of everything about my novel from characterization to chapter-by-chapter plotting to daily word count progress. Each spreadsheet can be adjusted and modified to suit the current project.

Remember to do a SAVE AS command each time you start a new project and rename the file with your working title. That way you’ll leave the original untouched and ready to be duplicated for the next project.

Keeping track of where I’m supposed to be when can be a challenge at conferences. Prior to each conference, I put together a schedule grid using an Excel spreadsheet, then print it out and keep it handy in a conference folder or notebook. Feel free to download and customize my spreadsheet as needed for your personal use.
